What We Believe
The Bible is the Word of God. The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired, and it is a treasure of heavenly instruction. We believe that God made Himself known to us through His Word. The Bible is infallible and that every word that is in it is literally true, and the Bible interprets itself.
In the unity of the Godhead, there are three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are equal in every divine perfection.
God is a person who created everything. He is the Creator of the universe, is responsible for all elements formed and unformed. He made it all! He personally formed the world and each creature.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God – the only begotten of the Father. He is the Savior of the world. He was virgin born and of the Holy Spirit. His death was expiatory and His blood is the only atonement for sin. He rose bodily from the dead and is alive forevermore. He represents men before God as high priest and savior. He ascended into glory bodily and will come again in like manner to rule the world eternally, restore man's dominion and God's Kingdom over all.
We believe that the Third Person of the Godhead is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a person. He is God in spiritual manifestation and He possesses all the attributes of God, and all elements of personality. The Holy Spirit is presented in both the Old and New Testaments.
God created man in His image and likeness, fully mature and intelligent. Man is now a sinner fallen from righteousness and apart from God's redemptive grace is lost. Man is justified by faith in the atoning blood of Jesus Christ resulting in regeneration from God and not by his works or self-effort. All men who accept Jesus Christ and conform to God's plan for a man will be saved and resurrected from the dead to immortality and restored to original perfection and goodness. All men who reject Jesus Christ and do not conform to God's plan of salvation for man will pay the eternal death penalty for sin.
We believe Salvation of sinners is wholly of grace. It involves the redemption of the whole man, and it is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer.
We believe that a New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a local body of baptized believers who are associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel, observing the two ordinances of Christ, committed to His teachings, exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word, and seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth. The church is an autonomous body, operating through democratic processes under the lordship of Jesus Christ. Its Scriptural officers are pastors and deacons.
We believe that Christian Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus. We baptize to show our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior.
We believe The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine to commemorate the undying love of Christ. This communion should always be preceded by solemn self-examination.
